A Network Connection is an established communication link between devices, (computers, assets, & phones) that allows them to exchange data and share resources.
Note: Once a Network Connection has been created or edited, you must log out and back into CMS to see the changes.
To create a new Network Connection Type click the Root Status icon.
The description is mandatory and can be of the organization’s choosing.
Each Network Connection is automatically set as Visible and Searchable options selected.
- Visible: Network Connection type is visible to be used when creating Assets.
*If a Network Connection is no longer to be used, deselect the Visible option. It is advised to leave Searchable selected in case there is a need to search by the Network Connection later.
- Searchable: Network Connection type is only visible to be used when Searching Assets
Once a Root Network Connection Type has been created it will appear in the list with a to edit and a
to create hierarchy options connected to the “Parent” Type. Multiple lower levels to the hierarchy can be created on a Network Connection Type.
For example, WiFi, and VPN and MBANs can be lower-level Connections that are also types of WiFi .
